Duty of Care

Our Duty of Care Awareness Training delves into the fundamental need to prioritize wellbeing and ensure the safety of individuals receiving care from harm, abuse, and injury.

The duty of care is not just a moral obligation but also a legal requirement inherent in your role of any Care worker. It forms an integral part of the code of conduct for healthcare support workers and adult social care workers in the UK, becoming applicable as soon as care or treatment is administered. Additionally, employees are obligated to extend this duty of care to their colleagues.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to define and describe duty of care, identify potential dilemmas that may arise between an individual’s rights and duty of care, explain how comments and complaints can enhance the quality of care and know adverse events, errors, near misses, and incidents. You will also describe factors that may contribute to or cause confrontation, learn effective communication skills that can be utilized to solve problems and limit confrontations, and discuss legislation relevant to duty of care.
